Economic Impact Payments

A third round of federal Economic Impact Payments is being distributed by the IRS. For more information on your eligibility, and when and how you will receive payment, visit irs.gov and use the Get My Payment tool. If you receive a debit card, you can learn more about activation, usage and fees at the Economic Impact Payment (EIP) Card Website.

Legacy Schools Financial Members: If the IRS payment information shows your old Schools Financial account and routing information, your payment will automatically be sent to your SchoolsFirst FCU account. As soon as we receive your payment it will be deposited into your account.

Golden State Stimulus Payments

The Golden State Stimulus Package includes a one-time payment to eligible Californians. Stimulus payments will be issued after eligible 2020 tax returns are processed.

The fastest and safest way to find out if your stimulus check was deposited into your SchoolsFirst FCU account is to log in to Online or Mobile Banking. If you don’t have Online Banking register today.

You can also sign up for Account Alerts to receive an immediate notification by email or text1 when your deposit is in your account. Here's how to set it up:

In Online Banking

  • Go to Settings & Profile, then Alerts
  • Confirm your email(s) and mobile phone number(s)
  • Check the boxes next to the accounts for which you'd like to receive direct deposit alerts

In Mobile Banking

  • Tap the person icon in the upper right corner, select Settings & Profile, and then go to Alerts
  • Confirm your email(s) and mobile phone number(s)
  • Turn on the switches next to the accounts for which you'd like to receive direct deposit alerts

Q: When will I receive my stimulus payment and how much can I expect to receive?

Q: I'm eligible to receive a stimulus payment, and the status shows I should have received my stimulus payment, but it's not in my account. Can you let me know where it is?

A: No, unfortunately, we do not have this information. When your payment is received from the IRS or the State of California it is immediately deposited into your account.

Q. I have questions about the amount of my payment, can you help?

A. Unfortunately, our branches and Member Contact Center will not have this information. Q. I don't believe I received the full payment I was eligible for in previous federal Economic Impact Payments. Can you help me understand the Recovery Rebate Credit?

Receiving a Payment

Q. How do I know if I received my payment electronically?

A. Check your account safely without leaving home.

  • Monitor your account using Online or Mobile Banking.
  • Set up an Account Alert to notify you when a direct deposit is deposited into your account.
  • The description of the federal deposit in your account will include the word "IRS."" Keep in mind, the IRS is using the same description for both the stimulus payment and income tax refund.

Q. How can I deposit my paper check without visiting a branch?

A. Contactless options to deposit your check:

  • eDeposit in Mobile Banking: Deposit a paper check using a photo image and get confirmation immediately.
  • ATM: To find the nearest ATM, visit our website or use the finder in Mobile Banking.
  • If you must visit a branch, we encourage you to follow the health and safety guidelines, including wearing a face covering and physical distancing.

Tracking Your Stimulus Payment

Q. Why isn’t my stimulus deposit showing up in my account?

A. All electronic deposit payments are deposited into your account on the date they are received. For information on your payment status, please visit Get My Payment on irs.gov for federal Economic Impact Payments and CA.gov for the Golden State Stimulus Payment.

How to avoid scams

As we have seen with previous stimulus payments, fraud and scams are on the rise. Being aware and taking a proactive approach to keeping your personal information and finances safe will help protect you from becoming a victim.

  • Never share your personal or account information, including your one-time authentication passcode, over email, text, or by phone when you did not initiate the call.
  • Sign up for Account Alerts in Online or Mobile Banking to get account and/or fraud notifications.
  • Make sure your SchoolsFirst FCU contact information is correct. Log in to Online or Mobile Banking to update your profile.
